Yotta's Hard IP Royalty Auditor helps IP suppliers, fabless design houses and System OEMs manage their intellectual property as it is used, developed and is released to the Foundries for manufacturing. The company's IP Auditor is a command line utility and database that can easily fit on a laptop and taken to the site of the audit.
The IP Owner's Smart Signature Master Database can be created using the company's IP expressed as GDSII and/or OASIS. The comparison can be done off-site. The actual IP does not need to follow the Database. This way, the audit can be securely conducted on a site's servers where the taped out design is located. Along with the Master Database will be a Point Tool of Yotta's that generates the signatures for the taped out file and does the comparison.
Yotta's technology does not compare through tags and meta data that had been embedded in the file. It creates a canonical index of every cell in the taped out file. Then, it runs a comparison against the canonical indexes in the Master Database. Yotta's Royalty Auditor will return a result reporting all of the owner's IP and the number of instances for each.
As long as the signatures are part of the Master Database, an owner's IP can be found even if not licensed IP. Yotta's Auditor will find partial matches where an attempt had been made to obfuscate its use.
